Song of the Day - "NO ESCAPE" coldrain

     Why, hello again. Nex here with another Song of the Day!
   

     Today I bring you "NO ESCAPE" by the band coldrain. While I'm not the best at labeling genres, I'd say it's a post-hardcore - hardrock sound. Either way, it's a hard hitting song with great guitar work, and screaming in parts. The song itself was featured in a commercial for the popular game: Biohazard: Operation Raccoon City. 

     coldrain is one of those bands that have been consistently rising up in the rock scene in Japan. They're definitely a band worth checking out.

ARTIST PROFILE - THE STALIN

When you think Japan you don’t typically think of Hardcore Punk, but in the not so distant past there was a band that was the epitome of Hardcore in Japan. The STALIN was the brainchild of the 29 year old Socialist and social activist; Michiro Endo in 1980 who just a year earlier after returning from Vietnam created Jieitai, named after the Japanese Self Defense Force whose songs went on to become STALIN hits.

ALBUM REVIEW - MAXIMUM THE HORMONE - TSUME,TSUME,TSUME/F (Single)

Maximum the Hormone, no idea what it means, but it sounds amazing and that's all that matters. MTH mix rock, metal, pop, punk and hip hop and....even a little reggae into a perfect storm of very heavy and very catchy songs. MTH consist of Maximum the Ryo on clean vocals i.e. singing and guitar, Nao on drums and backing vocals, Daisuke sings, screams and raps and Ue-Chan plays bass and sings backing vocals as well. They're most famous outside of Japan for their songs being used in the Death Note anime.

Album Review - SAND - Tie the Shoelaces, Just Knock Em (Single)

For those of you who don't know, SAND is a Hardcore band hailing from Osaka, Japan. The band consisting of Makoto on lead vocals Ishi on guitar and vocals, Sexim on guitar, King on bass and Ryota on drums has been around since 1999 and has toured all over Japan and in the US.
