Theoretical question: Am I a bad person if, when news of another celebrity/musician dying hits my news feed, I start humming Another One Bites the Dust? First Whitney Houston, then Donna Summer, and now Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees, are dead.
If you've been living so far under a rock that you actually need someone to tell you what happened to them: Whitney Houston didn't keep off the rock, while both Donna Summer and Robin Gibb died of cancer-related complications.
If you have no idea who the Bee Gees are... you must be 12, because even I know who they are, and I'm like, the most clueless person ever about pop music. With that said, the Bee Gees had a long string of hits, with their album Saturday Night Fever holding the number-one best-selling album until Michael Jackson's Thriller dethroned them.
Maurice Gibb, another of the trio, died of complications from twisted intestine surgery in 2003. Barry Gibb remains the sole surviving member of the Bee Gees. The brothers also had a younger brother, Andy, who had been a teen idol, and died at age 30 from heart failure, which was presumably brought on by cocaine and alcoholism.
Robin Gibb was 62 at the time of death.
