Song of the Day - Prelude 12 21 - AFI

So, someone I know tweeted about listening to AFI today. I haven't heard that name in a while - I remember, last time I listened to them, I was 15, stupid, and just beginning to develop a decent taste in music. I mean, come on, at that age, I still took Avril Lavigne seriously. And Ashlee Simpson.

Song of the Day - Shiki - Kagrra

Today's song of the day is a Kagrra song. They were probably one of my favorite bands when they were around. Kagrra had a way of combining rock, blues, and traditional Japanese sounds that was unique and lovely.

Song of the Day - My Last Attack - Holy Grail

Today's song of the day is actually picked by my boyfriend, who loves Holy Grail. I happen to be experiencing an attack of the hungries at the moment, and thus am incapable of such a major decision.

Song of the Day - Needless - Kuroyume 黒夢

Here we go, song of the day is late again... and Kiyoharu again. Oh well. As we've discovered before, my way of picking song of the day is basically hitting play on the Last.fm "your mix" button. So, here you go! Kuroyume's Needless.

Album Review - Have You Ever... - Dead Ferret

"Come on, Buckbeak, come and get the nice dead ferret..." If you read that sentence in Emma Watson's voice... you rock. You'll also know where this pop-punk band got their name. Now, as we all know, I'm a bloody Potterhead, and should just go wander around Scotland trying to find Hogwarts. So, when I saw a Potter page doing a promo for promo on a band called Dead Ferret... you can bet your sweet hippogriff mother's bum I clicked on that. And, it turns out, there's an EP out also? Nice. So, here's a nice, fresh review for you guys!!

Song of the Day - I've Always Been Crazy - Waylon Jennings

For someone that lives in New York City and has lived there for a good decade, I have too much country music showing up on my Last.fm. I suppose it started with Johnny Cash and the Allman Brothers Band; there has always been a kind of murky area where you can't tell apart if it's blues, country, or classic rock. Oh well.

Song of the Day - Perverse Rendezvous - Kaya

Sorry folks, today's song of the day is late a bit.

I felt like we'd had too much old stuff up lately as songs of the day, and so... Behold! Today's song du jour is Kaya's Perverse Rendezvous.

Song of the Day - Venus in Furs - Velvet Underground

It seems everyone is obsessed with the Venus transit that is occurring today. Probably, this is because it ain't coming back until 2117, by which time we'll all most certainly be dead. It's kind of like why we buy limited edition CDs and DVDs...

Important Note From Admins

Sorry folks. Those of you who are regular followers might have noticed a disruption in our schedule these past two days.

It is most unfortunate, however, we have had to take shelter in zombie-proof bunkers, fearing an imminent invasion after seeing a number of zombies in the streets. We could not continue our posting schedule as we had no wi-fi in said zombie-proof bunkers.

However, after discovering that those were merely people with no originality, we decided it was safe to come out.

We will do our best to make sure this does not happen again. We will also look into investing in a zombie-proof bunker with wi-fi.

Thank you for your continued support.

ARTIST PROFILE - JOE YAMANAKA

In 2011 we lost an amazing singer, actor and relief activist. Sadly not many people out outside of Japan under the age of 60 have any idea who this man is and it's a shame, because he is quite possibly the most influential rock/reggae artist to come out of Japan. I hope after you read this you will see what a truly amazing and genuine person we lost last year.

Song of the Day - Liquid Cocaine - Dante

After a frustrating morning dealing with explosive diarrhea and a bureaucracy that can only be described as having the "chaotic evil" alignment... I've decided to get a move on and actually post Song of the Day ON TIME today!!!! What do you know, it's a small miracle.
